Control Strategy: Yard Protection

Maggie’s Farm Mosquito & Tick Killer hose-end product will kill mosquitoes that it contacts and repel them for a period of time. In field testing, we’ve seen significant repellency for at least two weeks after treating yards (heavy rain will likely reduce the amount of residual time, however). Follow the instructions on the label and be sure to apply the product liberally under bushes and vegetation to get at possible breeding sites, as well as to treat the yard for general repellency.

Places around your home that stay dark (don’t get sunshine) and therefore damp, are good places to treat for mosquitoes. In addition to heavy vegetation, look for perpetually shaded areas, including under decks and porches.

Mosquito & Tick Killer should not be applied directly to ponds, lakes, or ornamental water. If you have ornamental water, there are larvicidal mosquito dunks available that may be useful to reduce potential breeding sites on your property.

Small Area Protection: (i.e., Decks, Patios, etc.)

If you only need to protect a small outdoor area like a deck or patio, Use these recommended mosquito control products.  Maggie’s Farm Mosquito Fogger according to the directions on the labelIf you fog the air around patios and decks etc, it will provide quick kill and repellency for a few hours. It will also kill and repel flies. If you want up to 7 days of repellent zone protection against mosquitoes, you must treat the dark, damp and heavy vegetation areas noted above. Just fogging the air won’t give you long-lasting results.

Maggie’s Farm Flying Insect Killer can also be used to kill and repel mosquitoes both indoors and outdoors.
