Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we know the perfect way to celebrate—with love bug crafts. While bugs aren’t always your favorite houseguests, these buggy crafts are too cute to be annoying. Check out a few fun and easy love bug crafts that kids are sure to enjoy.

Love Bug Stickers

Love bug craft

If you’re looking for a quick and easy craft, these love bug stickers are a great option. Gather your craft pom-poms, pipe cleaners, foam heart stickers, googly eyes, and glue. Attach the pom-pom to the top of the sticker using glue. Cut a pipe cleaner to make small antennae and glue them to the pom-pom. All that’s left is to attach the googly eyes, and the sticker is ready to go.

Love Bug Fruit Cups

All you’ll need for this craft is a pink fruit cup, pipe cleaners, 1 small craft pom-pom, googly eyes, foam hearts, and glue. When assembling your love bug, make sure to flip the fruit cup upside down. Cut the pipe cleaners in half and bend the tips to create antennae. Glue these to the back of the cup. To give the love bug a face, glue the small pom-pom to the cup as a nose and then attach the googly eyes. Add the foam heart feet to the bottom of the cup and it’s ready to go.

Paper Love Bug

Lady bug craft

Not all crafts need a ton of supplies. You can easily get into the spirit of the holiday by creating paper love bugs. Grab a few sheets of construction paper, scissors, and glue. The look of this love bug is inspired by a ladybug. You’ll just need to cut out the parts and glue them together. For a fun twist, give your love bug heart-shaped spots.

Paper Plate Love Bug

For this fun project, you’ll need paper plates, colored tissue paper, construction paper, and googly eyes. Before assembling, you’ll want to cut the tissue paper into small squares. Place a layer of glue on the paper plate and begin adding tissue paper squares. Cut out antennae and wings from construction paper. Glue the wings, eyes, and antennae to the plate. You can add a nose using a marker or paper.

Cardboard Tube Love Bug

Bug cardboard tube craft

Save cardboard toilet paper rolls for this quick and easy project. Convert the tube into a bug by covering it in paint or construction paper. The next step is to cut out and glue on paper wings. You can use paper or pipe cleaners to create the antennae that can be attached to the back of the roll. The last step is giving the love bug a face. Googly eyes or paper eyes work great for finishing off your love bug.

Love Bug Cookie

It isn’t really a holiday if there isn’t at least one sweet treat. For these cookies, you can either whip up a batch of your favorite heart-shaped sugar cookies or buy the dough at the store. Once they’re finished baking, decorate the cookies with your favorite icing. You can always add red or pink food coloring to a white icing to add to the Valentine’s Day theme. Kids can get as creative as they want when making the face and designs on the bug.

Love Bug Coloring Sheets

You can even create your own coloring pages using the shapes tool in a word document. Give your kids crayons, colored pencils, or markers and see what they can create.

Not only are these crafts fun, they can also introduce kids to the world of bugs. Whether you’re helping your little one or you’re a kid at heart, these love bugs crafts are a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. What are your favorite buggy crafts? Let us know in the comments below!
