Q: How long will it take for the fragrance from Maggie’s Farm indoor spray products to dissipate inside my home?
A. The fragrance comes from the natural plant oils used in the ingredients, which are inherently fragrant. The fragrance is not harmful and generally dissipates shortly after product use. However, the "longevity" of the fragrance is a function of several factors, including: how much product was used, where the product was used, if the product was applied to any absorbent surfaces (e.g., carpet, upholstery, etc.), the relative humidity in the area sprayed, the amount of air circulation in the area sprayed, etc.If you find that the fragrance is too strong and/or lingers too long, there are several things you can do to minimize it (Click Here)
Q. Can I apply Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray on myself or my pet?
A. No, Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray is not labeled for topical use.
Q. The label directions indicate that the nozzle has both a “SPRAY” and “STREAM” setting. However, it only has the word “ON” printed on the nozzle. Can you use it to either spray or stream the product?
A. Yes, the nozzle has both a “SPRAY” and a “STREAM” setting. While the nozzle only has “ON” printed on it, simply turn it to one of the “ON” positions for a spray setting, and the other “ON” position for a stream setting.
Q. What are polyglycerol oleate and isopropyl myristate that are listed in the inert ingredient section of the product label?
A. These ingredients are used as emulsifiers to help the oil and water in the formula to mix together well when the can is shaken to get an even, uniform mixture that is needed for product performance. Without these ingredients, the oil and water would remain separated (oil floats, water sinks), which compromises the effectiveness of the product.
These ingredients are on the US EPA Minimum Risk Pesticide Program approved list of ingredients. The Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray is classified by the US EPA as a minimum-risk pesticide.
Q: Can I spray this on everything?
A: You cannot spray onto food or food prep areas. If you do, clean area or discard food. Do not apply to plants. It is not for topical use for you or your pets. Do not spray directly on people or pets. Do not spray around insect baits that are being used. Always test on fabrics and plastic surfaces before using across a broad area. Our home bugs spray is a great indoor bug spray, for all your home pest control needs.

Q: I am using this to deter bugs from entering my house. How often do I spray?
A: That depends on if you are fighting a current infestation or if you are being preemptive. I suggest every 2 weeks to once a month as a preventative, or as needed. As long as you are ok with the fragrance of the natural plant oils and test on surfaces before use, feel free to use it as much or as little is needed.
Q: Can I spray this on my plants?
A: This product is not labeled for use on plants, I can suggest our 3 in 1 garden spray. If you decide to use it, make sure to test a small area before broadly spraying over the whole plants, and read all of the labels instructions.
Q: How do you turn the nozzle?
A: The first turn can be difficult, but you can use a pair of pliers to get a good grip on it and twist it either way. There are 2 off positions, 1 mist spray position, and 1 stream spray position.
Q: How effective is Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray as a home bug treatment?
A. Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray is an excellent go-to for home pest control. It is formulated using natural plant oils and kills the most common home-invading pests including ants (also carpenter ants), bed bugs, cockroaches, fleas, mosquitoes, spiders, ticks, and other crawling and flying pests. The residual then repels other pests who come near it.
Q. Does this work on bed bug eggs?
A. No. Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray is labeled for bed bug adults, but not adult eggs. Many insecticides are labeled as such (for adults, and not for eggs). Vacuuming or going through the washer and dryer on high heat are the most effective treatments for bed bug eggs.
Q. To get rid of bed bugs do I need to keep spraying this or will the one treatment take care of them all?
A. For a spot treatment to kill bed bugs, apply Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray or Maggie’s Farm Ant & Roach Killer in bedrooms/sleeping areas by using the straight stream nozzle setting to inject the product in cracks around baseboards, floorboards, doors, and window frames.
Use the “mist” nozzle settings to apply as a surface spray to carpets, floor coverings, and rugs around sleeping areas. Spray until damp, but not soaked.
Keep in mind that to use any spray as a bed bug treatment, it will require several applications. Any bed bugs that you don’t kill directly by spraying them will only be repelled by the botanical oils in Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray.
Your best bet is to treat these same crack/crevice/void areas and the mattress/bed frame/headboard with unscented Maggie’s Farm Bed Bug Killer.
Bed bugs are most commonly found in bedrooms and furniture near where host humans sleep. The most effective long-term approach to get rid of bed bugs at home is to treat your mattress, bed frame, headboard, nearby furniture, floorboards, etc. in areas near your bed. Bed Bugs are stealthy and sneaky and can easily cram themselves into tiny cracks, crevices, wall voids, and other out-of-the-way areas, so this is where you’ll want to focus your application.
Our Maggie’s Farm Simply Effective Bed Bug Killer is proven to be an even more effective desiccant (dehydrating) dust than diatomaceous earth, and when left undisturbed, remains effective for up to 10 years.
For best results, remove bedding, wash and dry it thoroughly in high heat, and vacuum carpeting, rugs, and the mattress/box spring thoroughly. Place the vacuum bag in a plastic bag, seal it and throw away in an outdoor garbage can. Also, take your bed frame, nearby furniture, and electrical plates apart to get the best exposure for application.

Q. Does Maggie’s Farm Home Bug Spray leave behind an oily residue that needs to be wiped up after spraying?
A. No, our indoor spray products are water-based, not oil-based, so they do not leave behind a messy oily residue that must be wiped up after spraying. Our water based sprays will not cause hard floor surfaces like hardwood and tile floors to become slippery like an oil-based spray. Oil based sprays can also cause staining issues on soft surfaces like fabrics, upholstery, rugs, carpet, and leather.
